Noura Erakat
Noura Erakat is a Palestinian-American human rights attorney, author and legal scholar. Ms. Erakat is an editorial committee member of the Journal for Palestine Studies, a Co-Founding Editor of Jadaliyya, an electronic magazine on the Middle East that combines scholarly expertise and local knowledge, and the author of Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine. In 2025, the University of Ghent selected her as the Amnesty International Laureate.
Should you be paralyzed by fear, I encourage you to look to Palestinian women — they refuse to surrender. Neither should you.

At the Security Council
Noura Erakat was selected to represent civil society at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security in October 2025. She spoke in her capacity as an international human rights lawyer and author.
