Naw Hser Hser

Naw Hser Hser is a longstanding woman human rights defender and civil society activist from Myanmar. She is an Advisory Board Member and Advocacy of the Women’s League of Burma (WLB), a civil society coalition of 12 organizations representing women from different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds. She currently serves as a Standing Committee Member and International Advocacy Director of the Karen Women’s Organization, and as a Regional Council Member of the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD). Hser Hser previously served as the General Secretary of the WLB and is an advocate for women’s participation at all levels of decision-making.

At the Security Council

Ms. Naw Hser Hser was selected to represent civil society at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence in July 2023. She spoke in her capacity as a longstanding woman human rights defender and Advisory Board Member of the Women's League of Burma.
